LEH: Sonam Wangchuk ends his 21-day long Climate Fast in Leh today, March 27. But there was no response from the Central government regarding his demands for the implementation of the sixth schedule and the restoration of the state assembly in Ladakh, a significant region along the sensitive borders with China and Pakistan.
Despite his fast ending, Wangchuk stated that the protest will persist.
He mentioned that women would now fast for 10 days followed by youth, Buddhist monks, and others in a continuous relay.
Wangchuk highlighted the support received from various religious groups, including Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, and Muslims, as well as from public figures.
He emphasized the growing support for the movement, with thousands joining each day, totaling around 40,000 over the past 21 days.
Wangchuk urged the government to heed their voices and fulfill promises made to the people of Ladakh.
He expressed hope for a peaceful resolution but stressed the determination of the movement to continue until their demands are met.
