Una - The inaugural run of the first Vande Bharat Express bus service from the Amb-Andaura railway station will go a long way in enhancing railway connectivity for the people of Kangra, Una, said Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.
The launch of the Vande Bharat bus service aims to connect the people of Una district and neighboring Kangra district, providing them with vital railway connectivity.
Describing it as a high-tech Volvo deluxe bus service primarily catering to tourism, Agnihotri announced that the bus would depart from Palampur at 8 AM, reaching Amb-Andaura railway station via Nagrota, Kangra, and Dehra by 11 AM.
He emphasized the convenience it would offer to passengers arriving via the Vande Bharat train, enabling them to reach their destinations of Dehra, Kangra, Nagrota, and Palampur seamlessly.
Agnihotri assured continuous accessibility to the Vande Bharat bus service, highlighting its potential to boost tourism in Himachal Pradesh. He emphasized the significant convenience the service would provide to the people of Kangra district, who previously had to rely on private vehicles or taxis to reach Amb. Now, with the bus service in operation, both time and money would be saved, benefiting the tourism sector as well.
In efforts to promote tourism systematically, Agnihotri mentioned the establishment of bus routes connecting railway stations, hospitals, airports, and religious tourist destinations. He cited examples such as the bus service from Chintpurni to Khatu Shyam, Hamirpur to Vrindavan, and Hamirpur to Ayodhya, with plans to initiate an HRCTC bus service from Una and Shimla to Ayodhya soon.
