SHIMLA: National Lok Adalat held across all courts in the State of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday marked a milestone in the resolution of legal disputes, addressing pre-litigation and pending matters.

Under the patronage of Hon’ble Shri Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Sri Ramachandra Rao, Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and Patron-in-Chief of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, and with guidance from Hon’ble Shri Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Judge of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and Executive Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, the event witnessed impactful outcomes.

A total of 95,355 cases were taken up before different benches during the National Lok Adalat, leading to the settlement and disposal of 36,583 cases.

In a bid to enhance accessibility and efficiency, an online facility for the payment of compounding fees through ePay (eCourts Digital Payment) was introduced, specifically targeting Motor Vehicle Challans within the Courts of Traffic Magistrates.
