SHIMLA: Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh inaugurated a newly constructed vehicle parking facility at Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir in Shimla.
Costing Rs 4 crore under the Smart City Mission, the parking lot aims to address the increased traffic of tourists and devotees in the area.
Singh highlighted the importance of fulfilling long-standing demands, mentioning the initial foundation stone laid by former Chief Minister Raja Virbhadra Singh in 2013.
Despite delays due to formalities like forest clearance, the parking now accommodates up to 200 vehicles, benefitting both tourists and locals.
The minister emphasized balanced development across all wards of the Municipal Corporation Shimla. Plans for road construction, community halls, and water schemes were discussed, aiming to enhance both infrastructure and tourism in Shimla.
Mayor Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, and other officials attended the inauguration, along with representatives from various departments and a large audience.
