Dharamshala: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and initiated development projects worth Rs. 77 crore during a visit to Shahpur assembly constituency in Kangra district.
The projects include a Sewage Treatment Plant, Augmentation of Drinking Water Scheme, Water Treatment Plant, replacement of old pumping machinery, Farmer Facilitation Center Building, and Shahpur Rest House addition.
Sukhu mentioned a forthcoming Rs. 250 crore milk plant in Dhagwar, Kangra, and the allocation of Rs. 3,000 crore for Kangra Airport expansion and rehabilitation efforts.
He reiterated state's commitment to develop Kangra district as a tourism hub and establish a Zoological Park in Bankhandi, Dehra, at a cost of Rs. 400 crore. Adventure water sports in the Pong Dam area were also planned, he said.
The Chief Minister urged the central government for disaster relief, citing an estimate of Rs. 12,000 crore in losses but criticized the BJP leaders for not advocating for relief grants.
He assured the people of the state government's commitment to fulfilling their demands.
Sukhu distributed financial assistance to orphaned children and acknowledged the development initiatives in Shahpur Assembly constituency.
Various organizations and individuals contributed to Aapda Rahat Kosh and Chief Minister Relief Fund.
