SHIMLA:SJVN is rolling up its sleeves for Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, a two-week-long cleanliness extravaganza kicking off from May 16th to May 31st.
Leading the charge is none other than Sh. Sushil Sharma, CMD of SJVN, who rallied employees at the Liaison Office in New Delhi to take the Swachhta Pledge.
Joined by Sh. Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance), and Sh. Prem Prakash, CVO, the ceremony marked the beginning of a nationwide effort to keep our environment clean.
SJVN's corporate offices and 22 other locations and projects spanning states like H.P, Punjab, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh have joined the Campaign.
Sh. Sushil Sharma drove home the message of individual responsibility in building a clean and healthy society, urging employees to take action both on and off the clock.
But what exactly does Swachhta Pakhwada entail? Well, it's more than just picking up trash—it's a comprehensive plan that includes everything from cleaning up public spaces to composting office canteen waste.
SJVN employees are gearing up for intensive sanitation efforts, with initiatives like shramdan in surrounding areas and special drives to tackle the plastic plague.
And it's not just about doing the dirty work—Swachhta Pakhwada is all about spreading awareness too. SJVN's action plan features workshops, exhibitions, expert talks, and even street plays to drive home the message of cleanliness.
Their dedication to cleanliness has earned them the prestigious 1st prize in the Swachhta Pakhwada Award by the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.
Othe state officials should start such Campaign as well.
