SRINAGAR: Two Indian Army officers and a Jammu and Kashmir police DSP displayed remarkable bravery in Anantnag district's Garol forest during an ongoing anti-terrorist operation launched on September 13. They attained martyrdom in the line of duty on September 13.
Leading from the front, Col. Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Donchak of the 19 RR Battalion, and DSP Humanyun M. Bhatt made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation's integrity and sovereignty along the Indo-Pakistan border.
Acting on intelligence, they engaged terrorists who had infiltrated from Pakistan, and the operation is still underway.
