Shimla/New Delhi: PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh met with Indian Railway Board Chairman and CEO, Satish Kumar, in New Delhi today, pushing for quick approvals to resume construction work on two major projects in Shimla.
Singh highlighted the long-pending flyover at the HP Vidhan Sabha junction and the viaduct along Victory Tunnel, both stalled due to delays in clearances from Northern Railways.
“These projects are crucial for easing traffic in Shimla, especially with the huge influx of tourists. We need swift action to get them moving again,” Vikramaditya Singh stressed during the meeting.
He also brought up the expansion of the Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line, emphasizing its importance for Himachal Pradesh.
In response, the Railway Board chief instructed officials to immediately restart work on the stalled projects.
“The delay has already impacted progress since April, and it’s important we resolve this quickly,” Singh noted, thanking the Chairman for his prompt action.
The CEO also assured that work on the Bhanupali-Bilaspur line is ongoing, asking for the state’s continued cooperation in pushing the project forward.
