Dharamshala/Shimla, May 3: In a focused crackdown under the “Chitta-Free Himachal” drive, the Himachal Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF) has busted a drug racket in Kangra district, seizing 1.792 kg of charas and arresting two accused in Baijnath.

Acting on specific intelligence, STF teams intercepted a motorcycle (HP 37D-8233) at Bully Kothi on May 2. During checking, a substantial quantity of charas was recovered from the two occupants. Both were taken into custody on the spot, and the vehicle used in the crime was seized.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Baijnath, and investigations are now underway to unravel the backward and forward linkages of the network.

Police sources say the interstate connections are also being probed as part of the larger supply chain.
