Shah highlighted the government's tough stance on narco-trade, resulting in increased arrests and drug seizures.

He emphasized the coordinated efforts between governments and agencies under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, leading to a stronger anti-narcotics mechanism nationwide.

Shah also stated that achieving a drug-free India is a priority for the government, with efforts focused on detecting, disrupting networks, apprehending culprits, and rehabilitating addicts.

Data from the Ministry of Home Affairs showed a significant increase in drug-related cases and arrests during the Modi government's tenure, with seizures doubling and the value of confiscated drugs rising substantially.

The National Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted financial investigations in 23 cases, seizing assets worth Rs 74,75,00,531 by June 2023.

The strengthening of the NCORD mechanism in 2019 aimed to enhance coordination between central and state agencies in combating drugs, aligning with Prime Minister Modi's vision of a drug-free India.
