CM Sukhu chairs meeting of Congress MLAs in Shimla

After assuming the charge of the Chief Minister at Secretariate today Chief Minister presided over the meeting of the Congress Legislative Party and sought  views of Congress MLAs. 

Sukhu  also appointed Sunil Sharma,  his old Congress associate, who hails from Hamirpur  as his political adviser with a cabinet rank.    

After the meeting Sukhu told media persons it was decided in the meeting that all the MLAs and their family members would pay the same room tariff in Himachal Bhawans/ Sadan and other State Guest Houses as is being being charged from the general public.

Later, while interacting with media persons, Sukhu said  the State Government would provide top priority for redressal of public grievances and would end the VVIP culture. 

Chief Minister also informed that his Government would work towards ensuring transparency in governance and will adopt zero tolerance to corruption.

Sukhu said the government has taken up the matter of restoration of plaque at the Atal Tunnel  that mentioned the name of the then UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. 

Sonia Gandhi had laid the foundation stone of the Rohtang tunnel in 2010, but the plaque went missing later when the Modi government took over in Delhi in 2014.

Congress had made it an issue and vowed to restore it when it would come to power. 

Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri also assured the charge at the Secretariate. 

PCC President and Mandi Lok Sabha MP Pratibha Singh, who is the wife of late Virbhadra Singh  and Shimla rural MLA and Vikramaditya Singh, their son also  paid courtesy call to the Chief Minister. 

Sukhu said the government would make the 10 guarantees as government document and would fulfill all promises given in the manifesto. The government would work in complete coordination with PCC, he asserted.
