HPGUV at BRO Bridges Function

These bridges, located on key highways—NH-3 (Manali-Sarchu), NH-5 (Powari-Shipkila), and NH-505 (Khab-Gramphoo)—were inaugurated in a hybrid event today.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, attending virtually from Raj Bhavan, thanked Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for dedicating these vital projects in the presence of Chief Engineer Deepak Project Rajeev Kumar.

He emphasized that the five bridges—Munni (40m), Bhaga (30m), Dogri (65m), Habsar (50m), and Shalkhar-11 (45m)—will serve as lifelines for remote areas and boost strategic access.

Shukla highlighted the strategic importance of these bridges in enabling swift troop movement and aiding the local population’s socio-economic development. “These roads are essential for both defense and the prosperity of border communities,” he said.

The Governor praised BRO for completing these projects in record time despite harsh conditions. “BRO used state-of-the-art technology, finishing many projects in just one season,” he added.
