Sukhu acknowledged HRTC's pivotal role in Himachal's development, crediting its officers and employees for the corporation’s 50-year success.

He revealed that Rs. 50 crore would be allocated to cover 55 months of employee overtime dues, with full disbursement by March 2025. Additionally, Rs. 9 crore would be released for pending medical bills within two months.

He emphasized that the previous government’s financial mismanagement had led to HRTC's losses, but the current government is making necessary reforms.

He announced the regularization of 1,546 contract employees, the creation of 608 new jobs, and the promotion of 421 employees.

The Chief Minister shared plans to strengthen HRTC's fleet, noting the addition of 210 ordinary buses, 11 Volvos, and 35 electric buses.

Upcoming purchases include 2,000 electric buses, with a Rs. 327 crore budget already set aside.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, the  special guest, praised HRTC employees for their dedication and professionalism.

He said HRTC is  serving the public, even on loss-making routes, and lauded the Chief Minister for his personal connection to HRTC through his late father’s service.

HRTC Managing Director Rohan Chand Thakur  provided a detailed account of the corporation’s achievements over its 50-year journey.

He highlighted the key milestones and developments, noting the continuous efforts to modernize the fleet and improve services for the public.

The event featured the release of HRTC's Coffee Table Book, special badges, and cultural performances celebrating HRTC's achievements over the past 50 years.
