The CSK Agriculture University in Palampur, where the recent Conclave on Drone was held,  is taking research from labs to fields that aims to benefit farmers of the state.

According to the government, Drones  will prove to be a game-changer, reducing operational delays, wastage of pesticides and fertilizers, and water usage, while cutting costs and minimizing human exposure to harmful chemicals.

To boost drone technology, the State Government plans to introduce drone courses in ITIs, creating career opportunities for aspiring drone pilots.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stresses on IT-driven governance, highlighting drones' potential in healthcare, emergencies, logistics, law enforcement, and environmental conservation.

Recent heavy rains disrupted roads in many villages, but drones came to the rescue, supplying medicines and essentials to remote areas.

During COVID, drone technology matured, finding innovative ways to access goods and services during natural disasters.

Drones also enhance green cover by broadcasting seeds in tough, distant regions. They aid in mapping crops and food grains grown in remote areas of the state.

The recent  National level Himachal Drone Conclave held in Palampur showcased drone exhibitions and interactive sessions, signing MoUs worth Rs. 200 crore for further advancements.

How long the government will take to put what it is preaching about the use of drones, remains to be seen to judge the success of drone tech?
