CM was here to attend  dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi at the two days G20 Summit here. He met the PM on the sideline of the Dinner and took this matter with him.

CM Sukhu, addressing the Prime Minister, earnestly appealed for the declaration of the calamity as a 'National Disaster.'

He emphasized the severity of the crisis, reporting that the disaster had claimed the lives of more than 400 individuals and caused damage to over 13,000 homes, rendering thousands of families homeless.

The financial toll on the state was staggering, with losses exceeding Rs. 12,000 crore.

This crucial interaction took place amidst the presence of eminent leaders, including US President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as well as representatives from 19 invited countries and international organizations such as the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, and World Health Organization.
