HPU Girls get Jobs in Pvt companies

HPU’s Girl Students Register Strong Presence as Companies Prefer Women Talent; 3 Secure High-Paying Offers

Shimla, November 14 — A clear hiring trend is emerging on campuses: companies are increasingly preferring girl graduates and postgraduates for frontline corporate roles. Riding this shift, three girl students from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) have secured notable job offers in the latest placement drive — giving the season a powerful start.

In the joint placement initiative by the Placement, Career & Guidance Cell and UIT, PlanetSpark, a leading EdTech player, picked six students, including three girl candidates, for the role of Business Development Counsellor with a ₹6.5 LPA package.

The selected group comprises four UIT students and two from the MCA Department.

In another boost, one Electronics & Communication student from UIT has landed a ₹7 LPA offer from GreyB, a reputed technology consulting company.

UIT Director Prof. A. J. Singh lauded the selected students, noting that the achievements of girl candidates show “a decisive shift in industry confidence toward women professionals.”

He credited the Training & Placement Team — Mr. Pradeep (Placement Officer), Mr. Sunil, Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Nikita, Er. Sandeep, Er. Harish, and Er. Daljeet — for driving a focused and effective placement effort.

UIT, HPU said placement activities will continue till June 2026, with more sectors expected to pick up recruitment momentum.

A standout beginning for HPU — and a strong message that girl students from Himachal are ready for the big league.
