In a comprehensive analysis conducted by the Association for Democratic Reforms and National Election Watch, self-sworn affidavits of 58 out of 59 candidates contesting for Rajya Sabha seats across 15 states have been scrutinized.

Among the revelations, it was disclosed that 36% of the candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves, with 17% facing serious charges.
Notably, one candidate has even been associated with cases related to attempted murder.
Financially, the analysis uncovered that a significant 21% of the candidates are billionaires, with assets exceeding Rs. 100 crore.
The educational background of the candidates varies widely, with qualifications ranging from 5th pass to graduates and beyond. Similarly, age-wise distribution reveals a majority falling between 51 and 70 years old, while gender representation remains relatively low, with only 19% of candidates being women.
