Kullu: New Year celebrations turned into a tragedy on the Kullu–Manali National Highway late Tuesday night when a car carrying four youths met with a horrific accident, killing three on the spot, including two girls, and leaving one seriously injured.
According to preliminary information, the car rammed into another vehicle and overturned sideways, crushing both vehicles completely. The impact was so severe that three occupants died instantly, while the injured youth was rushed to the Regional Hospital, Kullu, where his condition is stated to be critical.
Police said prima facie rash and negligent driving appears to be the cause of the accident. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. More details are awaited.
