Srinagar, November 15: Jammu & Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat on the Nowgam explosion, categorically stated that the incident was an accidental blast and not the result of any terror attack.
Putting all speculation to rest, the DGP said there was “no terror angle whatsoever” in the tragedy that shook the area on Thursday. He briefly addressed the media, listed the official findings, and walked out without taking questions.
According to the police, nine people lost their lives — including one SIA officer, three FSL experts, two photographers, two revenue officials, and one tailor. Another 27 people were injured, among them three civilians.
Officials said further investigation will focus on the technical causes of the accidental blast, even as teams continue clearing the site.
