BJP MLA Vinod Kumar had led few people to SDM Office to seek 'Tarpaals' to protect some retaining wall from the rains.

According to the video, MLA became furious at the SDM after they had heated arguments over the issue. The lady officer, who was  pregnant,  was in tears after  MLA's highhandedness.

The incident, caught on tape, went viral on social media, sparking furious condemnation from the HPASOA. The association minced no words in criticizing the MLA's behavior, which it termed "highly condemnable" and "irresponsible."

While acknowledging the role of elected representatives in addressing public concerns, the association underscored the dedication of Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service officers in tirelessly tackling public issues, even during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The incident has raised concerns about the MLA's conduct, particularly his alleged mistreatment of a pregnant officer diligently discharging her duties.

The HPASOA expressed apprehension that such actions could demoralize officers precisely when their service is most vital.

Smt. Samritika Negi, an officer of distinction, has earned universal recognition for her work ethic and effectiveness. The association's statement underscored the hope that such behavior would not set a precedent for the future.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by administrative officers, who work tirelessly day and night to serve the public, often during calamitous circumstances.

The association's condemnation echoes the sentiment that public servants, pregnant or not, deserve respect and support, rather than scorn.
