They Discuss Deeper Defence Ties at UNTCC 2025 Meet
New Delhi, October 17: On the sidelines of the United Nations Tri-Services Chiefs Conference (UNTCC) 2025 in New Delhi, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), held a bilateral meeting with Lieutenant General Pradeep Jung, Assistant Chief of the Army Staff (ACOAS) of the Nepali Army.
After the change of regime in Nepal following the Gen Z stir, India and Nepal have inched closer as Nepalese youth rejected the pro-China posturing of the infamous Oli regime. The Army chiefs’ meeting only reaffirmed that.
According to an Indian Army spokesperson, the discussions centered around strengthening defence cooperation, enhancing joint training initiatives, and boosting collaboration in UN peacekeeping operations.
“Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to regular defence dialogue and institutional exchanges,” the spokesperson said, adding that the talks reflected the enduring friendship, mutual respect, and shared values between the two neighbouring armies.
The meeting underscored the historic and close bonds between the Indian and Nepali Armies, further reinforcing their role as key contributors to regional peace and stability.
