In a show of support, the World Bank has offered full assistance to Himachal Pradesh in its recovery process.

This includes a comprehensive assessment of the damages incurred in various sectors like roads, power, water supply, housing, agriculture, and more. The Bank will collaborate with the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) to quantify the losses and provide technical aid for reconstruction and disaster risk management.

Auguste Tano Kouame, the Country Director for India, conveyed the Bank's appreciation in a letter, praising the Chief Minister's leadership abilities during this trying time.

In response, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its generous support and acknowledged the immense challenges faced by the state.

With the assistance of the World Bank, Himachal Pradesh can now focus on the path to recovery and restoration, aiming to bring life back to normalcy, Sukhu said.

CM said state estimates a loss of over Rs. 8000 crore and considers the permanent restoration of crucial infrastructure its top priority.
