SHIMLA: Lions Club Shimla organised a “Food for Hunger” project at Kamla Nehru Hospital as part of Lions International’s ongoing efforts to support people in need.
Lions International District 321 A2 Area Leader Lion Man Mohan Verma said the initiative aimed to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry.
“Food is a basic right, not a privilege,” he said, adding that such efforts were not merely about providing a meal but also about offering hope and strength to families going through difficult times.
Project Chairperson Lion C. L. Sankhyan said club members, along with volunteers, personally served nutritious food to patients and their caregivers at the hospital. More than 400 people were reached through the initiative.
Those present included Area Leader Man Mohan Verma, Project Chairperson C. L. Sankhyan, Zone Chairpersons Gopal Vaid, Vimal Sood and K. D. Chandel, along with Lion Vikram and women members of the club.
The club said it would continue undertaking community-service initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable sections of society.
