Landslides Block Rampur–Kinnaur National Highway, Traffic Hit
RECONGPEO, AUG 31: The Rampur–Kinnaur–Kaurik National Highway was breached at several stretches on Sunday morning following heavy landslides and rockfalls triggered by continuous rain.
Large boulders came crashing down near Nathpa in Kinnaur, bringing traffic to a complete halt. The Nigulsari stretch has also been blocked, and officials said it may take time to reopen the road as the area is still witnessing frequent landslides.
Authorities have urged commuters to avoid travel on the route until clearance work is completed and the weather stabilizes.
