Mandi, April 3 – In a major reshuffle of primary school teachers, the Deputy Director of Elementary Education, Mandi, has issued transfer orders for JBT teachers across 24 government schools. The move, aimed at rationalizing staff and ensuring proper teacher deployment, comes after an approval from the Director of Elementary Education, Himachal Pradesh.
The order states that teachers posted in schools where student enrollment is 20 or fewer (for classes 1-5) and there are three or more teachers, including the Centre Head Teacher, are being relocated to schools facing staff shortages.
The rationalization drive has impacted teachers across several education blocks, including Rewalsar, Drang, Sadar, Karso, Karsog, Chauntra, Chachiot, Seraj, Nihri, and Dharampur. Prominent shifts include:
Jhabe Ram from GCPS Thunadigad to GPS Banoun (Rewalsar)
Bimla Devi from GCPS Kamand to GPS Mohigalu (Sadar-II)
Sandeep Kumar from GCPS Tullah to GPS Jhulgan (Chauntra-II)
Vishal Sharma from GCPS Seri Kathol to GPS Ruchhad (Seraj-I)
Lalit Kumar from GCPS Randoul to GPS Shall (Nihri)
Pushpa Kumari from GCPS Sadhot to GPS Garli (Dharampur-I)
Joginder Kumar from GCPS Ghanaia to GPS Kaitri (Dharampur-The affected teachers have been instructed to report to their new postings immediately, with compliance reports expected by 3 PM today.
The order also emphasizes that these transfers should not be contested based on current school enrollments.
The decision has sparked mixed reactions among teachers. While some welcome the move as a necessary step to balance teacher-student ratios, others feel the abrupt transfers may disrupt their personal and professional stability.
With this rationalization drive, the education department aims to optimize resources and prevent disruptions in students' learning—though its real impact will be seen in the coming months.
