Shimla, March 9
St. Edward’s School celebrated its Founders’ Day with pride and tradition during a two-day function held on March 8 and 9, commemorating the institution’s rich legacy of over a century in education and character building.
Former Supreme Court of India judge and distinguished alumnus Justice Deepak Gupta attended the main function as chief guest. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the school flag, the school anthem and a reflection on the ideals of the founders.
The investiture ceremony saw the newly elected Student Council taking oath, administered by Principal Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira. For 2026, Keshav Vashisht was appointed School Captain, Ansh Sharma Vice-Captain, Atharv Sharma School Reporter and Ritik Sharma Sports Captain.
The programme also featured a guard of honour, march-past by students and alumni, academic awards and cultural performances. A special publication, “The Hundred Years Tapestry – Volume 3,” dedicated to the school’s alumni and legacy, was released and a time capsule was sealed for future generations.
On the second day, students paid tribute to the founders at the Memorial Park and watched an audio-visual presentation on the school’s centenary celebrations. Members of the Outreach Club and student cabinet also visited the Abhi Foundation, interacting with special children and distributing essential items.
The celebrations reflected the enduring spirit of St Edward’s School — rooted in tradition, excellence and service.
