SHIMLA: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has made significant remarks regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, predicting a defeat for the BJP in Kutlehar and Nalagarh constituencies.
Addressing the media upon his return to Himachal Pradesh after tours in Rae Bareli and Amethi, Agnihotri wasted no time in launching a vigorous campaign for the Congress.
He expressed confidence in Vinod Sultanpuri, the Congress candidate for the Shimla seat, stating that victory awaits him.
Agnihotri actively participated in public gatherings organized in support of Congress candidates.
In Nalagarh, he rallied behind Hardeep Baba, while in Kutlehar, he lent his support to Vivek Sharma.
Agnihotri emphasized the prevailing sentiment favoring Congress in Rae Bareli and highlighted BJP's losses in several states.
The Deputy CM remarked that the BJP's slogan of "400 seats" has lost its momentum and suggested that the party is facing setbacks across the country.
He criticized BJP's attempts to destabilize the government in Himachal Pradesh and assured that the Congress government has only grown stronger in response.
He asserted that the outcome of the by-elections would strengthen the government further.
Agnihotri also projected confidence in Congress's victory in future elections. He urged Shimla's MP to present a report card to the public regarding his achievements and promised a surge in Congress's popularity in Nalagarh.
Agnihotri also highlighted development plans for the Shimla region under Sultanpuri's leadership and pledged to make Kutlehar a model constituency under Sharma's guidance.
He denounced disloyal MLAs in Una and vowed to stand firm with the Congress government.
Regarding women's empowerment, Agnihotri said a ₹1500 financial aid scheme emphasized the government's efforts to ensure pension security for employees.
He criticized the BJP for its alleged anti-people policies and urged the public to remember who stood with them during times of distress.
Agnihotri reiterated his commitment to Congress's agenda of inclusive development, promising to lead Himachal towards self-reliance and progress.
