SHIMLA: Congress has questioned the CBI probe ordered into the infamous Police Recruitment scam, raising its ante against the Jai Ram Thakur government for giving clean chit to DGP police over shoddy police investigation.
The government was playing with the careers of the youth not giving them justice to thousands of applicants who had appeared in the police constable test in the state, Congress charged.
Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh criticized the government and administration for their failure to nab the culprits, saying that this is a very serious matter which cannot be taken lightly. The culprits should be punished severely as this incident has tainted the clean image of Himachal.
Extending its support to the Youth Congress sitting on fast in connection of the police recruitment scam, Pratibha Singh said Congress stands with the youth and will fight to last.
Pratibha Singh said the country is going through a very difficult situation during this rule of BJP. BJP leaders never talk about rising inflation and unemployment. The prices of gas cylinders are being increased arbitrarily. No relief is being given to the people from the rising inflation, she claimed.
Responding to media queries, Pratibha Singh questioned the impartiality of the CBI investigation in this case and said that all this is under the BJP government at the Centre. The state giving a clean chit to the DGP seems like an attempt to cover up the matter, she charged.
After this, Pratibha Singh also visited the photo exhibition organized in the memory of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi at Gaiety Theatre. She expressed his gratitude saying that memory of the life of late Rajiv Gandhi has been kept from this exhibition which is very memorable.
During this, Congress Working President Harsh Mahajan, former MLA Adarsh Sood, Youth Congress President Negi Nigam Bhandari, Atul Sharma, Amit Nanda, Amit Pathania, Shivam Rana, Virendra Banstu, Monita Chauhan and many other party office-bearers were present.
