SHIMLA: Prime Minister Narender Modi has targeted Himachal Pradesh for “mission repeat”. He chose the state for release of 11th instalment worth Rs. 21000 Crore to the farmers under PM Kisan Nidhi during the Garib Kaylan Samelan that he is set to address from The Ridge here on May 31 on completion of eight years rule of NDA Central government led by him.
On the other hand, social media is rife with speculations that Modi might announce the tribal status for the Hatti Community of Transgiri region.
There are also talks that Modi might make other announcements for the “Garib” and some “financial package or green bonus” for Himachal. “This or similar announcement would come as a gift to Himachal on completion of eight years of his NDA rule at the Centre from Shimla to woo the people of Himachal ahead of state assembly elections , which are just few months away”.
Giving details of the Prime Minister’s day long Garib Kalyan Samelan, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur told mediapersons here that Prime Minister would release the instalment of Rs 21000 crore to about 80 Crore farmers of the country under the PM Kisan Nidhi.
Prime Minister will interact with 17 lakh beneficiaries of 16 flagship schemes of the NDA Government from across the nation for 30 minutes on a virtual platform.
By this interaction, Prime Minster seeks to give a strong message to people in Himachal on how “double engine government works and benefits ‘Garib’ of the country”.
Prime Minister will also make second trip to Dharamshala on June 16-17 to address the conference of Chief Secretaries and youth convention.
Prime Minister has targeted these "double-edged trips and Samelans" for "mission repeat" in Himachal. Modi will continue to visit Himachal in coming months as well. Like Himachal, Modi has also increased his trips to poll-bound BJP-ruled Gujarat for a similar "mission repeat" there as well.
However, Jai Ram Thakur said the national level importance Garib Kalyan programme would be historic as Himachal has got an opportunity to host this Samelan in which over 50,000 people are expected to participate and listen to Prime Minister.
Modi Considers Himachal as His Home
Talking about announcements that PM Modi is likely to make, Jai Ram Thakur said PM considers Himachal as his home. “PM has given AIIMS, Atal Tunnel, medical colleges, Rs 2100 Crore project, Rs 800 crore special assistance and much more”, he added.
About the eight years rule of NDA at the Centre, Thakur said no previous PM faced the challenge of Pandemic on a scale like Narender Modi did. “But our 'Yashasvi' Prime Minister brought India out safely from it and earned world acclaim for this”, Thakur said.
“India has got world’s recognition as never before because of dynamic leadership of Modi as every section of society got benefited under NDA rule”, he added.
Pratibha Singh Comes from a different Parivesh
Taking a dig at Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh for her comment that CM was distributing party invitation to people for the rally, Jai Ram Thakur said he comes from a common family background and will maintain this link forever.
“Perhaps she comes from different (royal) “Parivesh”, he commented. “Like all MLAs and MPs we have invited Pratibha Singh for the programme as well as she is also a Lok Sabha MP, he said.
Accompanied by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur Prime Minister would land at Annandale ground at 10.40 am and would make a beeline for The Ridge. BJP National President and Rajya Sabha MP Jagat Prakash Nadda will not participate in the programme as per the schedule of the programme which is decided by the PMO Office, said Chief Minister.
Will Modi Stop at Indian Coffee House?
Meanwhile, there is possibility that “Modi might stop for his favourite cup of coffee at Indian Coffee house on The Mall”.
“Modi had stopped for the coffee during his last visit to Shimla, said his fans in the town. “Modi used to have long coffee sessions here when he was party affairs chief for Himachal in late 1990s”, they recalled.
From Annandale his motorcade will pass through the CTO, The Mall and Rani Jhansi Park to the venue of the rally at The Ridge.
