SHIMLA: Under pressure from opposition and citizens to bust the infamous multi-crore police constable paper leakage scam, Himachal Pradesh Police SIT team on Wednesday zeroed in on an income tax assistant, Sandeep Tailor and his wife, a TGT at Sikar in Rajasthan, saying that Tailor is a kingpin of paper leak of Solan Module.
Director General of Police, Sanjay Kundu in a media release revealed that special investigation team(SIT) investigation has revealed that Sandeep Tailor, a resident of ward No. 45, Shanti Nagar Industrial Area Sikar, Tehsil and District Sikar, Rajasthan, is serving in Income Tax Department as Tax Assistant Group-C at Chittorgarh. He is the kingpin of paper leak in the Solan module, police revealed.
Asserting his authority, DGP Kundu on social media twitted that one would commit crime in Himachal and run, but it is impossible to escape from the net of the Himachal Police.
The investigation has further revealed that he had taken Rs three lakh each from 07 candidates of Solan and Arki area through two middlemen namely Virender Kumar and Dev Raj. Bot Kumar and Raj have already been arrested by the SIT.
The two middlemen received Rs 50,000 for their services from Sandeep, the SIT found. About 80-90% payment was made online by the candidates, whereas some payment was made in cash, SIT said.
The wife of Sandeep Tailor, identified as Rinki Purva is serving as a teacher (TGT Science) in Government Senior Secondary School, Sangliya, District Sikar. It has been revealed that some of the amount has also been deposited in the bank account of the wife of Sandeep Tailor, which makes her an accomplice in the case, Police said.
So far, 14 mobile phones and 03 vehicles have been seized by the SIT from the accused persons involved in the paper leak in Solan district.
A special team of HP Police has already been deputed to Chittorgarh and Sikar in Rajasthan to arrest Sandeep Tailor.
Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh is also in touch with the DGP of Rajasthan, SP Chittorgarh and SP Sikar to ensure assistance of the local police to the special team of HP Police.
Rajasthan Police Constable exam also experienced “paper leak” last week, the police said.
