Chamba: As many as eight Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) representing over four thousand small and marginal farmers from different blocks of Chamba participated in the day-long workshop organized by CEVA Sanstha Chamba here.
The farmers learnt tips on how to reap maximum benefits from the various government schemes meant for the FPOs.
Addressing the workshop, District Development Manager NABARD, Sahil Swangla guided the farmers on how to avail different welfare schemes being run by the government in the state to increase their income.
Director of CEVA Sanstha Dr Haresh Sharma interacted with the farmers, discussed various issues and mooted an action plan for the year 2022-23 . The strategies on FPO product development, their branding and promotion were also made with cooperation with the farmers, he said.
Sharma said the farmers and including the office bearers of the FPOs were also motivated to increase the membership and the number of shareholders.
Farmers also put forward various problems related to the marketing and expansion of their business and underscored the need to hold such workshops in near future to benefit them.
Dr Haresh Sharma assured the farmers that the SEVA would promote cooperation and support them. The FPOs are being run in collaboration with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and MSMEs, he informed.
