Shimla: Education Minister Rohit Thakur laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects exceeding Rs 3 crore in the Jubbal-Navar-Kotkhai assembly constituency, situated near the Uttarakhand border.
The projects include the Nagali Shashan Link Road at a cost of Rs 90 lakh, another Nagali Shashan Link Road at a cost of Rs 73 lakh, the Harijan Basti Baisheda link road costing Rs 1 crore 5 lakh, and the Ladhaan Harijan Basti Pawasi to Kimta Basti Saskir link road also at Rs 1 crore 5 lakh.
Additionally, the Education Minister marked the initiation of the Government Primary School in Solang, set to be constructed with an investment of Rs 30 lakh.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the premises of the Government Senior Secondary School in Solang, where Thakur emphasized the importance of development in remote areas like Solang Saskir.
He expressed his commitment not only to the development of Solang Saskir but to all the remote regions within the assembly constituency.
During interactions with the local residents, Thakur shared his familial ties to Solang Saskir, a connection established by former Chief Minister Thakur Ramlal. Commending the efforts of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, he praised the administration's dedication to development despite challenging financial circumstances in Himachal Pradesh.
Thakur highlighted the Congress government's dedication to developing inaccessible areas, pointing out that Chief Minister Sukhu has been tirelessly working to strengthen rural economies. A significant allocation of Rs 190 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana for Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai assembly constituency was announced, focusing on enhancing connectivity roads to boost the local agricultural and horticultural economies.
Assuring swift action, the Education Minister pledged to fill vacant teaching positions in Solang and Pandranu schools, ensuring rural students have access to quality education.
Thakur later addressed the public meeting in Pandranu, addressing local issues and providing immediate solutions.
The event saw the presence of Zilla Parishad member Kaushal Mungta, Panchayat Committee member Balbir Pojta, SDM Jubbal Rajeev Sankhyan, DSP Rohdu Ravindra Negi, BDO Jubbal Karan Singh, public representatives, and Panchayat officers and employees.
