SJVN Revenue Surges 40% to ₹4,723 Crore, Standalone Profit Crosses ₹1,000 Crore
Shimla, August 31: SJVN Limited has posted a strong financial performance in 2025-26, with consolidated revenue jumping nearly 40 per cent to ₹4,722.81 crore, against ₹3,376.50 crore in the previous year.
The Navratna CPSE also recorded a rise in consolidated Profit Before Tax to ₹1,200.63 crore, from ₹1,111.69 crore, while consolidated Profit After Tax stood at ₹641.85 crore.
On a standalone basis, SJVN’s total income climbed from ₹3,252.44 crore to ₹3,869.66 crore, while Profit After Tax increased to ₹1,007.90 crore, compared with ₹970.18 crore a year earlier.
The performance was disclosed at the company’s 38th Annual General Meeting held through VC/OAV from SJVN’s corporate headquarters in Shimla on Monday.
Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta told shareholders that the year was marked by record generation, major capacity addition and commissioning of several key power projects.
SJVN and its associate companies added a substantial 1,730 MW to their installed capacity during the year, taking the company’s expansion drive to another level.
Operational performance also hit a record, with SJVN’s power stations generating 13,302.390 million units during 2025-26—the highest annual generation achieved by the company.
The 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station crossed another historic landmark by surpassing 150 billion units of cumulative generation since commissioning.
The flagship project also maintained an impressive 96.84 per cent Plant Availability Factor, underlining its continued operational efficiency.
The 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station delivered its highest-ever annual generation of 2,108 million units, adding further strength to SJVN’s hydro portfolio.
The 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station also outperformed its design benchmark, generating 310.36 million units against design energy of 265.5 million units—around 17 per cent higher.
SJVN simultaneously pushed ahead with its renewable expansion, with the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project achieving full-capacity commercial operation during the year.
Bikaner Solar has already crossed one billion units of cumulative generation, achieving the milestone in a remarkably short period.
The 70 MW Dhubri Solar Power Project in Assam was also commissioned, further expanding SJVN’s renewable generation base.
SJVN made its entry into large-scale thermal generation with the 1,320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project, where the 660 MW Unit-I achieved commercial operation.
The second 660 MW unit at Buxar is at an advanced stage and is expected to be commissioned shortly, adding another major block of capacity to the company’s portfolio.
Construction activity also gathered pace across SJVN’s major projects, including the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal, where civil, hydro-mechanical, electro-mechanical and transmission works have made substantial progress.
Work also advanced on the 382 MW Sunni Dam, 210 MW Luhri Stage-I and 69.50 MW Dhaulasidh hydro projects despite construction challenges.
SJVN’s improved financial performance also translated into shareholder returns, with approval of a ₹0.35 per-share final dividend.
Together with the ₹1.15 interim dividend already paid, the total dividend for 2025-26 has reached ₹1.50 per equity share.
The expansion has continued into the current financial year, with SJVN commissioning the 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Project in Bihar.
With this addition, SJVN’s operational portfolio has reached 4,271.50 MW, strengthening its position across hydro, solar and thermal generation.
The company spent ₹30.72 crore on CSR and sustainable development during 2025-26, focusing on healthcare, education, skill development, women empowerment, rural infrastructure and community development around its project areas.
