Shimla - SJVN has clinched agreements to supply 1100 MW of solar power to Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Limited (JKPCL) and Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL).
These two entities will purchase the power at a competitive rate of Rs 2.57 per unit from SJVN's 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Project, informed Nand Lal Sharma, CMD, SJVN.
The final allocation will be determined through forthcoming Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) signed by SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a subsidiary of SJVN.
The Bikaner Solar Project, inaugurated by Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, is set to be commissioned by June 2024 with a total investment of Rs. 5491 crores.
The project is expected to generate 2455 million units in the first year and reduce carbon emissions by 27,85,077 tonnes over 25 years.
SJVN, a leading CPSU under the Ministry of Power, is dedicated to expanding its renewable energy portfolio, aligning with India's green energy targets.
The company aims to achieve 12,000 MW capacity by 2026 and envisions 25,000 MW by 2030, ultimately aiming for 50,000 MW by 2040.
