Shimla: SJVN, through its subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has been granted Letters of Awards (LoA) for 1352 MW of solar power projects in Maharashtra.
The LoAs were received in Mumbai in the presence of the Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, along with key officials from SJVN and SGEL.
"We are proud to secure these solar power projects in Maharashtra, marking our commitment to renewable energy and contributing to the nation's goals of sustainable development, said Geeta Kapoor CMD SJVN.
These projects, part of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0, will be distributed across Nashik, Solapur, Ahmednagar, and Pune districts. SGEL secured the projects through a competitive bidding process initiated by MSEB Agro Power Limited, Maharashtra, with a total tendered capacity of 7000 MW. SGEL successfully participated for 1500 MW, split between 500 MW in Round One and 1000 MW in Round Two.
The initiative aligns with India's commitment to generate 50% of its energy from non-fossil fuel-based resources by 2030. The total investment for the development of these projects is estimated at approximately Rs 7436 crore.
This marks SGEL's inaugural contribution to the PM-KUSUM scheme, making the projects eligible for up to 30% central financial assistance.
