SHIMLA: SJVN commissioned its 100 MW Raghanesda Solar Power Station in Banaskantha district, Gujarat.
This milestone reinforces SJVN's commitment to sustainable energy solutions. With this addition, SJVN's total installed capacity stands at 2377 MW. It's the second solar project commissioned by SJVN in February this year.
SJVN Green Energy Limited secured the Raghanesda Solar Power Station at a tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit through Competitive Tariff bidding by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited.
The construction cost of the project is Rs 642 crores.
It is expected to generate 252 million units in the first year and an estimated cumulative energy generation of 5805 million units over a period of 25 years.
The power generated by the Raghanesda Solar Power Station will be procured by GUVNL under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement signed in January 2022.
Smt. Geeta Kapur, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, highlighted the company's dedication to enhancing the nation's green energy landscape and its position as a major player in the energy sector.
The financing for the project was secured from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation under the GREEN program, reflecting SJVN's commitment to green initiatives.
This project will significantly contribute to Gujarat's Renewable Energy Goals and enhance energy security in the region.
