SHIMLA- Renowned Nati King Kuldeep Sharma and Punjabi singer Satinder Sartaj mesmerized the audience on the Day 2 and Day 3 the International Summer Festival in Shimla. Mahanati will be the Day 4 Night of the fest on Sunday that is set to make new cultural waves as it would feature traditional Laaman and Jhuris and other items ot be presented by women .
The local people and tourists were captivated by his soulful performances. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh attended as the chief guest for the evening.
The day was filled with various activities, including a cultural parade, fashion show, and stage presentations by different schools.
Artists showcased traditional folk instruments in front of the police reporting Room on The Mall.
North Regional Cultural Center from Patiala delivered captivating performances.
Mayor Surendra Chauhan, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Manish Garg, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi, and other dignitaries graced the event with their presence.
Day 2
Shimla witnessed its second cultural evening, inaugurated by MLA Shimla Urban, Harish Janartha.
The event featured captivating performances that compelled the audience to dance along. Nati King Kuldeep Sharma enthralled both locals and tourists with his mesmerizing act.
Singers Kishan Verma, Kaka Ram Thakur, Vicky Rajta, and Geeta Bhardwaj also took the stage, providing unforgettable entertainment to the enthusiastic crowd.
Dignitaries such as Mayor Surender Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivam Pratap Singh, and other notable personalities graced the occasion with their presence.
The quiz competition, held at Gaiety Theater on the festival's second day, saw remarkable participation from 21 schools. The team of Navya Chauhan and Ojas Vijayvargiya from Sacred Heart Convent, Dhalli secured the first position, while the team of Abhi Thakur and Abhinandit Singh Saunkhala from Chapsley School, Shimla stood second.
The state model team clinched the third spot. Bhumika Kaushal and Aanchal Sharma from Girls Senior Secondary School, Portmore showcased their exceptional knowledge and skills during the competition.
Additionally, the Healthy Baby Show awarded Syed Mohammed, Advik, and Gauransh as winners in their respective age groups. Aitra Singh, Maisha, and Krishvika secured the second position, while Dhvanit, Anmay Sood, and Hargun Kaur received the third prize.
In addition to the cultural performances, various activities are scheduled throughout the day. These include fashion shows, stage presentations by different schools, demonstrations of traditional folk instruments at the police reporting form, and captivating performances by artists from the North Regional Cultural Center in Patiala. June 3 promises to be a day filled with cultural richness and vibrant celebrations at the International Summer Festival, Shimla.
On the final day, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will be the chief guest, and a grand event called "Mahanati" will take place.
Hundreds of women will participate, and performances by Laman Band, Kedar Negi, Amarnath, AC Bharadwaj, Anuj Sharma, and Bollywood playback singer Monali Thakur will entertain the audience, concluding the festival on a high note.
