Guwahati, August 8: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Guwahati Zonal Office, has provisionally attached assets worth approximately Rs 15.25 crore in a money-laundering investigation linked to GoMillions LLP, making it a major financial action in Assam against an alleged unregulated deposit-collection network.
The action, taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, relates to Rishiraj Gogoi, Joy Modak and their associates, who are alleged to have promoted GoMillions LLP and operated a product-based multi-level marketing enterprise under the name “TradeBull.”
According to the ED investigation, the accused allegedly collected money from members of the public in Guwahati and adjoining districts by promising fixed daily returns of 0.85 per cent and doubling of investments within about six months. The scheme, the ED said, was allegedly operated without registration or authorisation from the competent regulator for accepting public deposits.
25,410 investors identified
The investigation reportedly uncovered 25,410 unique investor identities through data recovered from the company's online portal and mobile application.
The total payment liability of the scheme has been assessed at approximately Rs 34.93 crore.
The ED further found that around Rs 63.41 crore was credited into the principal bank accounts of GoMillions LLP.
The agency alleges that the funds were subsequently routed through connected entities, including Rightway Infocom Pvt. Ltd., Carely Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and Lotus Corporation, before being diverted into the personal accounts of the promoters and their family members.
The alleged proceeds of crime were subsequently used to acquire or park money in high-end vehicles, stock-market investments, fixed deposits and unaccounted cash, the ED said.
Porsche, Mercedes-Benz among attached assets
As part of the latest action, the ED has provisionally attached bank balances, fixed deposits, a stock-trading account, three motor vehicles—including a Porsche and a Mercedes-Benz—and cash, with the total value estimated at Rs 15.25 crore.
The investigation originated from an FIR registered by the CBI, Anti-Corruption Branch, Guwahati, in a case involving alleged violations of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act, 2019.
The ED said further investigation is in progress.
