According to the sources, the CCEA extended the deadline as the Himalayan states have pleaded that work on the roads and bridges came to a halt due to the pandemic, extended rainy seasons and hiccups created by the forest department.
The government has included population of 100 people for giving a road connectivity mainly in the northeast in the militancy affected areas under the RCPLWEA projects. From 2016 on, as many as 4490 km long roads and 105 bridges have been completed in 44 districts in nine states.
The Modi government has launched the Road Connectivity Project for Left-wing extremism affected areas (RCPLWEAA), a vertical component of the PMGSY to provide all-weather connectivity in 44 districts in nine states including Northeast in the country.
