Shimla: The Institution of Engineers (India), Himachal Pradesh State Centre, celebrated the 57th Engineers' Day with great enthusiasm, paying tribute to the legendary engineer Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
The event focused on the theme “Driving Sustainability with Engineering Solutions Embracing the Latest AI-Driven Technologies.”
Er. Vishwa Mohan Joshi, Chairman of the IEI Himachal Pradesh State Centre, kicked off the event, expressing his gratitude to the engineering community.
He emphasized the need for tech innovations and sustainable practices in today's world, urging engineers to follow Sir Visvesvaraya’s ideals of creativity and service.
Students from the University Institute of Technology, HP University, alongside engineers from various government departments and NGO Sai Eternal Foundation, Shimla, actively participated.
They discussed how AI could help drive sustainability, sharing fresh ideas and experiences that added depth to the discussions.
The keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Balvir Singh Thakur, Head of Computer Science Engineering at HP University, delivered an insightful talk on the power of AI in engineering.
He highlighted AI’s potential to tackle future challenges and set new benchmarks for sustainability, inspiring the attendees to push for innovation.
Wrapping up the event, Er. Jaswant Singh, Honorary Secretary of IEI HP, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks to all participants and the organizing team for making the event a success.
