BJP to Stage Protest on June 22, Targets Sukhu Government Over Law and Order...
Shimla: The BJP has announced a major protest on June 22, 2024, in Bilaspur Sadar, led by former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and State BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal. This comes in response to a recent incident where gunfire broke out in broad daylight, leaving a man injured.
BJP State General Secretary Bihari Lal Sharma criticized the Sukhu government, claiming it has failed to maintain law and order in Himachal Pradesh.
He pointed out not only the Bilaspur incident but also the recent molestation of a schoolgirl in Khagna as examples of the deteriorating situation.
BJP MLA J. R. Katwal stated, "The Bilaspur shooting and the Khagna molestation case clearly show that the law and order in the state has collapsed. The current Congress government and Chief Minister Sukhu must answer to the people."
The BJP plans to confront the government over the rising crime rates across the state's 12 districts and 68 constituencies, expressing concerns over the safety of all residents.
