Horror in Khagna: Ex-Cop Turned Molester is on the Run After Abusing Eleven Schoolgirls. He is a murder convict... A harrowing Tale of School Girls.. a Coverup?

CHOPAL  — A horrifying tale has emerged from Khagna village in the Chopal subdivision, shocking the entire area and perhaps in entire state of Himachal.

Eleven girls from Government High School Khagna, aged between 11 and 16, have bravely come forward, accusing a shopkeeper and ex-cop, Satya Prakash Sharma, of molestation.

Sharma, a 50-year-old former policeman, has a dark past.

About 23 years ago, Sharma was on a VIP security duty, when former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee had visited Prini, his summer home in Manali.

On his way back from duty, suspicion of his wife’s infidelity drove him to madness .She came from Pandoh, where Satya Prakash was posted then.

In a fit of rage, Sharma fired his gun, tragically hitting and killing a shopkeeper in Pandoh, Mandi District. This crime sent him to jail for 20 years, but he was released two years ago, informed villagers.

Returning to his ancestral village of Khagna, Sharma opened a small shop.

The villagers were wary of him, given his criminal past, but no one could have predicted the nightmare he would unleash where he once was brought up one among his five other siblings.

He set up his shop in a shady manner. He used to put curtains in the shop, luring young girls with lollipops and sweets, then subjecting them to unspeakable acts of abuse, revealed the villagers, who do not wish to be named.

Despite the girls’ fear and silence, one courageous victim recently confided in her parents.

This revelation led to a school meeting few days ago, attended by teachers and villagers who were the members of the School Management committee.

But none of the victims' parents attended the meeting.

Shockingly, the school management attempted to hush up the scandal and settle it internally, leading to outrage among the parents. They demanded justice and insisted on filing an FIR. It was after their protest the school lodged the complaint at Chopal police station taking statement of 11 girls.

Sharma, now over 50, is a pariah in his own village, shunned by his family and the community.

He used to live along in his house in the village as his only daughter from his former wife from Pandoh is married.

The moment he learned about the police complaint, he vanished, sparking a frantic manhunt.

On June 21  he was nabbed by Shimla police from Ghannati and wS charged under the POCSO Act and IPC.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur assured  strict action in the case.

This scandal has raised serious questions about the school’s handling of the situation.

Why did they delay filing an FIR, opting instead to try and settle matters behind closed doors?

The villagers are left reeling, demanding answers and swift justice for their children.

The harrowing accounts of these young girls reveal a terrifying predator who, despite a life of crime, was allowed to live among them and continue his abuses unchecked.

The entire  area is now united in their quest to see the  accused brought to justice and ensure the safety of their children.

The people demand swift action and proper handling  considering his past history so that  justice for the victims is served.
