MTB cycle rally in Shimla starts

11th Firefox MTB Shimla Kicks Off with Grandeur, Promoting Heritage and Adventure Cycling Culture in the Himalayas...

SHIMLA: in a dazzling display of enthusiasm and fervor, the ceremonial flag-off of the 11th Firefox MTB Shimla unfolded at The Ridge, Shimla, marking the commencement of an exhilarating journey through the Himalayas.

Organized by HASTPA, the event witnessed the esteemed presence of dignitaries such as DIG ITBP Mr. Peram Singh and Hero Cycles President Mr. Rohit Sharma, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

The ceremonial flag-off, led by DIG ITBP Mr. Peram Singh and Mr. Rohit Sharma, alongside Mr. Mohit Sood, President of HASTPA, officially initiated the Firefox MTB Shimla amidst much anticipation. With the clock striking 4 PM, the event signaled the beginning of a thrilling adventure, promising two days of adrenaline-pumping mountain biking through the majestic Shivalik ranges.

A highlight preceding the main race was the Shimla Heritage Mountain Bike Ride, covering a scenic 15-kilometer route encompassing iconic landmarks of Shimla city.

From the historic Christ Church and Townhall to the picturesque Scandal Point and Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, the ride served as a tribute to Shimla's rich cultural heritage while promoting the exhilarating sport of mountain biking.

Noteworthy attractions included a record-breaking participation of 16 women riders from 9 cities, marking a significant stride towards gender inclusivity in the MTB race scene in Shimla.

Additionally, the spirit of adventure transcended age barriers as Mr. Mahesh, aged 65, emerged as the oldest rider, while Tanush, aged 12, showcased the passion of the younger generation, embodying the future of mountain biking enthusiasts.

As the Firefox MTB Shimla gears up for two action-packed days, the ceremonial flag-off and Shimla Heritage Mountain Bike Ride have set the stage for an unforgettable journey of adventure, camaraderie, and cultural exploration.

With cyclists from diverse backgrounds converging on Shimla roads, the rally promises to be a celebration of resilience, passion, and the spirit of exploration.
