Shimla – As heatwaves continue to scorch metros and cities across India, a massive influx of tourists is flocking to the cooler hill stations of Himachal Pradesh, bringing much-needed cheer to the local hotel industry.

Popular destinations such as Shimla, Narkanda, Baghi, Sarahan, Manali, Dalhousie, Keylong, Kaza, Recongpeo, Sangla, Batseri, and Chitkul in Kinnaur are seeing a surge in visitors seeking respite from the intense heat.

The tourists from Punjab, Delhi, Harayana, Gujarat  are making beeline for the Hill stations.  

Over the past 24 hours, the weather in Himachal Pradesh has remained relatively stable, with no major changes in maximum and minimum temperatures.

The average maximum temperatures have been appreciably above normal, providing a cool haven for those escaping the heatwave.

Una recorded the highest maximum temperature at 44.4°C, while Kukumseri had the lowest minimum temperature at 7.1°C. Manali saw a light drizzle with 1.0 mm of rainfall, adding to the refreshing climate.

#Tourism Boom:

The heatwave has driven countless tourists to the serene and cooler climes of Himachal Pradesh.

This seasonal migration has been a boon for the local hotel industry, which had been eagerly awaiting the summer rush.

Hotels, guest houses, and homestays are experiencing near-full occupancy rates. Restaurants and local businesses are bustling with activity, benefiting from the increased footfall.

Rajiv Sharma, the owner of a popular hotel in Shimla, expressed his delight, “We have seen a significant increase in bookings. The heat in the plains has driven people to seek refuge here, and it's great for business. Our staff is working round the clock to ensure guests have a comfortable stay.”

Similarly, in Manali, café owner Meena Thakur noted, “The influx of tourists has been phenomenal. It’s wonderful to see the town so lively. We are trying our best to cater to the needs of all our visitors.”

#Attractions and Activities:

are not just enjoying the pleasant weather but are also indulging in various activities. Adventure sports, trekking, sightseeing, and visits to local attractions are keeping them engaged. Popular spots like Kufri, Solang Valley, and the Great Himalayan National Park are seeing heavy footfall.

The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) is optimistic about the continued influx of tourists.

With the forecast predicting no major changes in weather patterns, the hill stations are expected to remain a popular refuge from the heatwave for the foreseeable future.

As tourists continue to pour into Himachal Pradesh, the local hotel industry is set to enjoy a bustling and prosperous summer season, providing a cool and welcoming escape for all.
