Shimla, December 11 – Himachal Pradesh Congress chief and former MP Pratibha Singh has accused the BJP of indulging in petty politics, urging it not to turn the Raj Bhavan into a political battleground.
Reacting to the BJP's memorandum to the Governor against the state government’s two-year celebration, Singh said, "The BJP has stooped to cheap politics to serve its own agenda.
She defended the government’s celebrations, stating that such events are held to showcase achievements and promote future plans to the public.
She further alleged that during its tenure, the BJP squandered crores on government anniversaries and events like the Investors’ Meet, pushing the state’s economy into disarray.
She added, "The Congress government has every right to inform people about its achievements and plans. The BJP has no reason to object."
Reaffirming public support for the Congress, Singh declared, "The BJP cannot steal this mandate at any cost."
