SHIMLA: IN an achievement, over 10,000 women in Himachal Pradesh have successfully established their own businesses under the recently launched "Empowered Women Loan Scheme" by the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank.
According to the chairperson of the bank Devendra Shayam the scheme was launched in July and it allows women in the state to avail immediate loans without security with flexible repayment options.
Notably, within just six months, the scheme has witnessed widespread participation, surpassing 10,000 loan applications.
The bank, aiming to strengthen every segment of the society, has distributed loans amounting ₹21 crores under this initiative, with plans to benefit an additional 10,000 women in the next three months.
