Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has set December as deadline to complete the Kurpan drinking scheme in Rampur subdivision. 

He along with PWD minister Vikramaditya Singh today visited Kharahan in Shimla district, pledging assistance to those affected by landslides triggered by heavy rains.

Compensation of one lakh rupees will be given to partially damaged houses, with consideration for those completely destroyed, he said 

The relief amount for damaged houses has increased from ten thousand to one lakh rupees. Families who lost homes will be relocated. Temporary routes for apple transportation are being prepared due to blocked roads.

CM criticized opposition for politicizing the disaster. First installment of relief from Union government is awaited. Kurpan drinking water supply scheme directed to be completed by December 25.
