Shimla: In the wake of relentless downpours wreaking havoc in Himachal Pradesh for over 48 hours, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu personally oversaw multiple rescue operations which rescued over 245 people in Nagwani, Alu Ground, Manali and Chandertal in Lahaul-Spiti througout the night.
Late into the night, Chief Minister Sukhu closely monitored the rescue efforts in Mandi district, where six people were marooned in Beas isle in Nagwain. NDRF rescued them safely at 2 a.m on July 10.
Sukhu continued overseeing the rescue operation of 29 people stuck in Manali's potato ground. The rescue teams secure them by 8 a.m. today.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Sukhu directed his focus towards the plight of nearly 200 tourists stranded near Chandertal Lake in the Lahaul and Spiti district.
They were given food items and medicines and were rescued to Batal and Chatru and Koksar.
Chief Minister Sukhu to hold discussions with Deputy Commissioners late in the evening on Sunday getting all updates.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reached out to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, seeking assistance for stranded individuals from Haryana.
He directed the state administration to ensure all possible measures for the rescue of stranded individuals.
