Prime Minister Narendra Modi here today, in Haryana, inaugurated the “Bima Sakhi Yojana” under LIC, aimed at empowering women through financial inclusion and employment opportunities
The program, which targets rural and semi-urban areas, seeks to integrate women as LIC agents, providing them with a stable income and entrepreneurial skills.

The Bima Sakhi Yojana is designed to provide women with flexible working opportunities within their localities. Through this initiative, women will not only gain employment but also act as facilitators, spreading awareness about life insurance in areas with low coverage.

Program Benefits and Financial Details
1. Monthly Stipends:
Year 1: ₹7,000
Year 2: ₹6,000
Year 3: ₹5,000
A performance-based incentive of ₹2,100 per month is also offered during this period.
2. Commissions and Long-Term Earnings:
Women will earn commissions on every policy they sell, allowing them to build a sustainable income. After three years, they can also earn renewal commissions, ensuring financial stability.
3. Skill Development:
Participants will receive free training in selling insurance products and customer service, making the scheme accessible even to those with minimal professional experience.
Panipat: A Symbol of Progress
The event marked another milestone for Panipat, a city that also hosted the launch of the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign in 2015.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini praised the scheme, calling it a transformative step toward empowering women and fostering their participation in economic activities.

The scheme aims to employ 35,000 women in its first phase, providing them with tools and training to succeed in their roles. It underscores the government’s commitment to financial inclusion and women’s role in nation-building.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates (minimum 10th-grade pass and 18 years old) can apply through LIC's official portal. Applicants must submit identification and educational documents and can track their application status online.
