SHIMLA- The Rape accused, Chhering from village Sarkhang, PO Sissu, Tehsil Lahul, District Lahul & Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment under the POCSO Act.
According to official police release. the accused was also additionally , sentenced to 1 year of simple imprisonment under Section 376 of the IPC, and 3 months of simple imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 5,000 under Section 506 of the IPC.
The judgment was issued by the Sessions Court Kullu on 16.05.2023.
The case was registered as FIR No. 08/2017 on 06.05.2017, under Section 376, 506 IPC, and Section 04 of the POCSO Act at Police Station Keylong, District Lahul & Spiti. The charge sheet was filed in the Court on 03.08.2017.
